Instrumentation2007. 15 accelerometers on the bridge. 3 accelerometers at a free-field site.
 
Superstructure Type22-cell cast-in-place prestressed concrete box girder. Hinges with shear keys and cable restrainer/strong pipe units at spans 3, 7, and 12. Both abutments are seat type abutments.
Substructure Type2.135m diameter circular concrete columns at Piers 4-12; 1.830m diameter columns with isolation casing at Piers 2, 3, 13, and 14. 8 columns at Piers 2 and 3, and 7 columns at Piers 4-14.
Foundation TypeSingle CISS pile supports each column at Piers 2-14. Abutments are supported by vertical and inclined piles.
RemarksThis bridge was instrumented during construction under the interagency agreement between Caltrans and Department of Conservation. Existing bridges (7 lanes total) were replaced with the new one (12 lanes) in four stages.
