Typical Floor Dimensions129 x 82 ft
Design Date1969, 2016 (Retrofit)
Instrumentation2018, 12 accelerometers on 4 levels plus 3 accelerometers at a reference free-field.

Vertical Load Carrying SystemConcrete slab at each level supported by concrete beams and columns. Slabs are also supported by concrete walls at basement.
Lateral Force Resisting SystemReinforced concrete shear walls in both directions below the First Floor and reinforced masonry walls above the First Floor. Retrofit (2018): strengthening of selected existing concrete columns and beams by using fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) wrap.
Foundation TypeReinforced concrete spread footings at columns and continuous concrete footings at walls. Belled caisson foundations occur at selected concrete columns. Footings are inter-connected by concrete grade beams.
RemarksThe retrofit (voluntary seismic improvement) was designed in accordance with the 2013 California Building Code. Funding for instrumentation was provided by the owner as required by OSHPD. CSMIP provided assistance in instrumentation.
